ARC 3320: Steampunk Luminaires

Undergraduate and graduate students in ARC 3320 (Environmental Controls 2) taught by lecturer Eric Carbonnier, Ph.D., AIA, created 110 luminaires for Steampunk Luminaires, an architecture exhibition at the ENV Gallery.

Carbonnier is an associate principal and Vice President of Sustainability at the Los Angeles studio of HMC Architects. The luminaire assignment takes into consideration photometric analysis, illuminance criteria, construction documentation, recycling/upcycling creativity, and fundamental understanding of electrical wiring.

Guests are encouraged to walk through the Gallery space and illuminate tjheir minds.

On Tuesday, April 30, The Designers Lighting Forum of Los Angeles will judge the luminaires to qualify students for the Lesley Wheel Memorial Scholarship.
