The Department of Archtiecture offers a number of opportunities for International study, including a summer progra in China, fall quarter program in Taiwan and year-long programs in Italy, Denmark, Germany and Japan.
The College of Environmental Design houses the ENV Archives-Special Collections, which includes drawings, photographs and papers of a number of well-known southern California practitioners who have been associated with the school. Works of architects Richard Neutra, Craig Ellwood, Raphael Soriano and Don Wexler, as well as those of landscape architect Francis Dean, are some of the holdings used by scholars and available for our students to study. Related to these collections is the Neutra VDL Research Studio and Residences, which was left to the University by Mrs. Dione Neutra (Richard Neutra's widow) and is operated by the College. It is open to the public and used as a laboratory for faculty and students.
