As the the college's senior director of development and liaison to Cal Poly Pomona's Office of Advancement, Jenkins Shannon is the lead in all forms of fundraising for the College of Environmental Design and its departments, including priorities such as expansion of the Interim Design Center (Building 89), expanding outreach to alumni and employers, sponsored studio courses and special academic initiatives. She's also the point of contact for corporate and foundation fundraising, scholarships, endowed faculty chairs, travel fellowships for students and planned giving.
Prior to her arrival at ENV, Shannon was the executive director of the Pasadena Museum of California Art. She joined the museum's staff in 2004 as director of corporate and foundation affairs, and served as associate and acting director for three years.
Shannon got her start in the entertainment industry, working for Disney Channel, MGM Television International and Sony Pictures International Television. In a press release announcing her promotion to executive director at PMCA, museum board chairman Reed Halladay praised her accomplishments in fiscal stewardship and development, and credited her with helping to put the museum in a strong financial position. She is also a Cal Poly Pomona alumna ('92, master's in business administration).
