The campus community is invited to a complimentary pizza dinner and screening of the award-winning “The Need to Grow,” produced by actress Rosario Dawson.
The film follows the stories of three unexpected and unusual leaders – an eight-year-old, a farmer and an inventor – as they fight and search for solutions addressing the rate of soil degradation. According to the United Nations report “Wake Up Before It Is Too Late,” we have an estimated 60 years of farmable topsoil left on the planet.
The event is hosted by the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies, in collaboration with the colleges of Environmental Design and Agriculture, and with the Geology and Anthropology clubs at the College of Science and the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences.
