Sarah A Meyer

Professor of Visual Communication and Graphic Design teaching a wide array of classes including typography, book arts, identity/branding, design thinking, and social and professional practices for which her student outcomes have received recognition. Her students' work has been published in leading journals and books including United Designs: Graphic Design Practice and Education, (Korea: Masthead Publisher, 2005),Motion Design: Moving Graphics for Television, Music Video, Cinema, and Digital Interfaces (Switzerland/UK: RotoVision SA, 2004), the Journal for the Hanyang International Design Conference, (Korea: Hanyang University, 2003), and Creative Quarterly: The Journal of Art and Design, CQ21 (New York: Hively Designs, 2010).
Her design work has been exhibited in numerous publications including Working with Computer Type 3: Color (Switzerland/UK: RotoVision, 1997) and United Designs (Korea: Hanyang University, 2004) and received awards of excellence from design associations including The Society of Technical Communications and The Art Directors Club. She is co-author of Color Management: A Comprehensive Guide for Graphic Designers, Color Management for Logos: A Comprehensive Guide for Graphic Designers, Color Management for Packaging: A Comprehensive Guide for Graphic Designers, and Choosing Color for Logos & Packaging: Solutions for 2D & 3D Design (Switzerland/UK: RotoVision, 2005-2009; New York: Allworth Press, 2012).
She is a member of the Guild of Book Workers, AIGA, and the National Council of Art Administrators for whom she has been invited to speak as a recipient of the 2012 Emerging Arts Administrator Fellowship. She has been invited to speak at the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) 2008 Design Week in Daegu, Korea. She has taught at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, University of Utah, California State University Fullerton, and has been a visiting professor of visual communications at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. She has acted as Chair of the Department of Art and Interim Associate Dean of the College of Environmental Design at CPP. She has a passion for developing professional partnerships across disciplines and building academic vision for students and faculty in diverse environments.
