ENV Student Advising

ENV Student Advising

Academic advising enables students to make informed decisions on their journey to graduation – from planning the next term’s courses, to weighing the merits of a study abroad program versus accepting an internship, to meeting all requirements to participate in commencement.

At the College of Environmental Design, students have access to department faculty advisors and graduate coordinators to assist with short- and long-term academic and career planning.

The ENV Student Success and Advising Center (Bldg. 7-200) also provides additional resources and information about the Four Year Graduation Pledge Program, Two Year Transfer Graduation Pledge, general education course requirements, and university policies and procedures. To schedule an appointment, contact Student Success Coordinator Teresa Castaneda.

ENV Student Success Leader Program Description

Meet the ENV Student Success Leaders

Amanda Alcantara (BFA, Graphic Design). Hi CPP! My name is Amanda and I'm a 5th year graphic design student. I began my freshman year at Cal Poly in Fall of 2012 and came in undeclared. I loved every minute of my dorm experience at Aliso Hall and made lifelong friends during my time there. I declared Graphic Design in the winter and although the journey was far from easy, I know that I wouldn't be the person I am today without the influence and guidance of my professors and peers down in the Art Department. Building 13 Represent! Although my time as a Peer Mentor and student is quickly coming to an end, I'll take the memories and experiences I made here with me on all my future endeavors. Congrats to my fellow graduates! 2017!!

Jason Martin (B. URP). I am Jason Martin. I am a transfer student in the second year of the Urban and Regional Planning Program with an expected graduation date of June 2018. I have also attended Cal State Fullerton, Santiago College, Santa Ana College, and Mt. San Antonio College since 1997. During which time, I have received 3 A.S. degrees (Construction Inspection, Architectural Technology, and Architectural Design) and have also received 7 certificates (different levels of inspection and architecture). I have worked in the construction and engineering industry doing design and build for about 15 years. I currently work for Madole and Associates part time and carry 18 units at CPP. I do understand the hardships that college can bring about and I am more than willing to help fellow students in any way possible.
