Alvaro Huerta, assistant professor of urban and regional planning, will moderate a book talk/panel discussion centered on The Road to Resegregation: Northern California and the Failure of Politics. The event is open to the public and will take place at the Grand Reading Room on the third floor of the University Library (Building 15).

The book is authored by Alex Schafran, Ph.D., lecturer in the department of urban geography at the the University of Leeds, UK. His research focuses on the contemporary restructuring and retrofitting of urban regions, with an emphasis on the changing dynamics of race, class and segregation across space and place. Born and raised in California, Schafran spent a decade as an immigrant rights and housing activist in California and New York prior to becoming an acemic.
